Celebrating Mother’s Day
This special day was first observed in 1908 in the United States and was given formal recognition in the US in 1914. Anna Jarvis is credited with having created Mother’s Day to recognise the contribution her Mother made in her lifetime to providing help and education to families to reduce deaths and disease. As a social activist Anna Jarvis started many women’s community groups to raise money for medicine and promote friendship and family health.
Mother’s Day is an occasion which is celebrated in many parts of the world, although not always on the same day or even the same month. It is a time to express respect, love and appreciation of their role they play or played in our lives. The day is an event to honour the contribution of mothers, to acknowledge the impact these wonderful woman have had on their families lives. This is also a time to also recognise the women who are not birth Mothers but who have played valuable roles in shaping who we are.
Whether it’s a homemade card, breakfast in bed, flowers from the garden or an exceptionally beautiful gift box - acknowledgement and love is what Mother’s Day is all about. Most of all don’t forget this special woman who has been there for you through the good and the bad moments and remember the special times you have shared.
The Gift Society is a Mother and daughter (who is also a Mother) team, we totally understand the value of this special bond and appreciate all the Mother’s and families out there. Our range has been designed to celebrate love and appreciation and we look forward to sending your love gift to your special Mum.
